2129 Series #1 – MEMORY RECALL
An Exciting Sci-fi – I loved the premise right from the start. A man dies, is frozen, and wakes up to a new world 200 years later. From his ‘awakening’, things start moving quickly for Bill, the main character. It is a refreshing sci-fi with events happening that kept me guessing what would happen next. And most times I’m surprised by the events that take place. Have fun and enjoy. 3/23/2022 Judy Shields
Awesome – I thought the book was awesome. It reads and feels like a seasoned author was behind it, while this is his first published book. The way Bill DeFoor transitions between POVs and craft conversations is phenomenal and allows for great storytelling. Bill’s descriptions of people are so vivid and realistic, it allows a perfect picture in my mind, and I distinctly remember stopping after multiple passages to take note of how good they were in describing a feeling or memory. He excels especially when describing family members and using all five senses to paint a picture.

With regards to the story, I would say it is an overwhelming success. I’m going to list my favorite parts here:
– Exploration of future world and explanation of world events was really interesting to read
– Banter between Griffin and Bill was very entertaining – I liked the running “hit the mark” joke
– Griffin’s “growth” with emotions and how he explained the tech aspects of that was great
– Nearly all of the sci-fi technology seemed plausible and realistic – most importantly the description of brain activity and how Griffin is able to target it.
– I really liked Bill’s tone and approach to the after death experiences. He managed to keep it scientific while introducing the mystery of an afterlife. This was handled expertly and these scenes were some of my favorite.
– The story ended in a nice way while still leaving me wondering where the adventure will go next. GSMan 4/21/2022
Great Read! – I am not an avid reader of novels. However, I found myself not wanting to put this book down – always wanting to see what happened next! Considering where we are today with technology, this book is highly believable on where we could actually find ourselves 100 years from now! I am now looking forward to reading the 2nd book in the author’s series very much! Extremely well written! Munchkiesmom 4/30/2022
1964 – BEST YEAR EVER
A Gift – This is a remarkable story of the power of love, personal transformation, and the importance of family. The descriptions Mr. DeFoor used transported me to a different time and place and caused me to reflect on the impact of my own feelings, relationships and experiences during pivotal high school years. Mr. DeFoor’s vulnerability and story-telling is a gift to generations that follow after him. 3/11/2022 Joel A. Sawyer
Love is powerful – This was such a sweet love story. I did not know what to expect when I started it, but this story shares how the power of love can redeem any situation or circumstance. A young man overcoming a very rough upbringing through the fate of finding his eventual wife. You also see how the young man works hard and has a great work ethic to get himself out of his rough upbringing. This book is also honoring to his wife, which is such a rare thing to read about lately. The love he has for his wife from the very beginning is so evident and unwavering. This book is full of hope and is an easy uplifting read. Anonymous 4/22/2022
A Beautiful Love Story – This is story that is a true love story. It shows how a young man faces his struggles and is able to take the first step to move from his life of poverty. It’s a story of finding a woman who has support from her family and has grown up with strong family values. It’s also a reminder of the forgotten music, travel, family gatherings, sports and high school events from so many years ago. The book brought back so many good, and some tough, memories for me. 1959 – END OF CHILDHOOD
Tugs On The Heart – This book was really quite an emotional rollercoaster ride for me. I grew up from good parents but we were poor. I knew other people were not as fortunate is we were, but in reading this book, in comparison, I see that I was setting on top of the mountain. I encourage everyone to read this man’s story.
