1959 – END OF CHILDHOOD is the first memoir in the series. It follows Billy’s journeys, adventures, and observations after being abandoned by his parents. Eleven years old, all Billy wanted was to play baseball with his friends. But he and his two younger brothers were shuffled between poor families, themselves struggling to survive. This book recounts the pain, suffering, betrayal, and desperation he and his brothers suffered before being reunited with his father just before Christmas. Basketball and school were Billy’s safe havens. His teacher was a mentor, someone who cared.
